New I-9 Requirements Effective July 31, 2023 

After three years of leniency, The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is ending its temporary COVID-19-related I-9 policies. US employers will no longer be exempt from in-person inspections of new hires’ identity and employment eligibility forms. U.S. Citizenship and immigration Services (USCIS) issued a newer version of the Form I-9 on July 17, 2017. This form use is mandatory beginning September 18, 2017.
